In 2017, Mina began her tax career at Grant Thornton Australia LLP as an undergraduate during her final years whilst studying at University of Queensland. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she transitioned into a tax advisor within the Corporate Tax team. Across the 7 years at Grant Thornton she developed her knowledge and skillset across tax compliance, tax reporting, audit of tax and tax advisory for international businesses.  She has worked across various industries with a focus on energy and resources, technology and construction. 

 

Further on, Mina primarily focused on Mergers & Acquisitions on both domestic and international businesses. This involved buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence; share purchase agreement reviews; corporate restructuring; cash tax modelling; capital structure and refinancing; working with clients in obtaining tax warranty and indemnity insurance and assisting multiple businesses with the tax aspects of getting “IPO” ready.

 

As Mina established herself within the Mergers & Acquisition space, she gained experience within the Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory team based in Sydney at Grant Thornton. She processed and analysed financial and non-financial data to extract information to illustrate key business drivers and performance indicators. She worked with key stakeholders including lawyers, shareholders and company directors and managed the deals from the start to end. This involved enterprise to equity value bridge; calculations of working capital, net debt, historical performers and share purchase agreement reviews. 

 

In 2023, she further expanded her practise by joining Grant Thornton’s London based International and Corporate Tax team. Mina particularly assisted with Australia inbound and outbound transactions which commonly included sell-side tax due diligence; tax structuring; international tax and cross boarder planning. 

 

Mina is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Australian Tax Institute. She graduated from University of Queensland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting.
