US Tax Structuring Manager

Katie began her tax career in 2018 as a part of PwC’s M&A tax practice in Houston, Texas. In 2020, she was seconded to PwC’s London office for an international tax rotation, and in 2021, she transitioned to a permanent position in London with KPMG’s M&A tax practice.

 

Katie’s Big 4 experience primarily focused on tax advisory services for M&A transactions, including buy side and sell side due diligence and tax structuring with respect to acquisition and financing, post-transaction integration, and investment exit. Katie also assisted with international tax matters, such as CFC/PFIC testing and expansion of US inbound investments. She primarily served European multinational and US-based corporate clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and production, energy, biotech, fintech, and media & entertainment.

 

Katie is a US trained lawyer and a member of the American Bar Association and Kentucky Bar Association. Prior to her career in tax, Katie was a civil trial lawyer focused on medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.

 

Katie has an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Prior to law school, Katie earned a B.A. in Music and Spanish from Centre College.
