Clay began his tax career in 2020 at Deloitte in New York, where he focused on domestic private equity and hedge fund U.S. federal income tax compliance. In 2022, he joined KPMG’s M&A Tax practice, and at the end of 2024, relocated to England to join KPMG’s US Tax Services practice in London.

At KPMG, Clay’s M&A experience primarily involved providing tax advisory services—including both buy-side and sell-side due diligence and structuring—to strategic and financial clients engaged in domestic and cross-border transactions. Additionally, he has extensive experience with various international tax matters, advising foreign institutional investors and funds on US inbound investments. Clay also has experience advising public and private companies in connection with their debt restructuring and bankruptcy transactions. He has primarily served European multinational and US-based corporate clients across a wide range of industries, including consumer products, manufacturing, media and entertainment, and biotech.

Clay is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York. He holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Mississippi.
